Elzy Milling, Based In A Historical Site in Ohio
Also of note on the Elzy Milling & Trade campus is a sign commemorating the site of the original log cabin in what would eventually become Bellville. This historical site in Ohio was established in 1808 – the same year as county seat Mansfield – Bellville has always been an important part of the Richland County story.
Since opening in July 2011, Elzy Milling & Trade has tripled in size. We now occupy seven buildings on a two-block campus in a beautiful historical site in Ohio, specifically downtown Bellville.
From the banks of the scenic Clear Fork River and along the popular B&O Bike Path, our historic Mill has been in continuous operation since the Civil War. This means that for roughly 170 years, the mill has been a constant role for generations of farm families! In fact, if you consider the size of the Mill’s framing timbers, it means those trees were growing on or around our campus at the time Europeans were first establishing settlements in America! Everywhere you go on our mill, you see the history of us, Ohio, and America.
Other historic facility buildings include a former Carnation Milk processing plant, a former school bus garage, the D. H. Bowman and Sons headquarters, and previous homes for several other notable area businesses.
For those who enjoy history, those who want to marvel at mid-19th century industrial architecture, or even those who enjoy a relaxing ride on the B&O bike trail or fly fishing for trout on the Clear Fork, Elzy Milling & Trade is worth the visit. In fact, we’ve been visited by customers all the way from Argentina to Alaska, and Maui to Maine!
